Over recent years I have painted increasing numbers of commissioned paintings. I particularly like to work from a combination of photographs – maybe a finely painted miniature, a painting on a box or a traditional oil painting. Unfortunately, even in this digital age, there are times when no single photograph exists, that captures an image of a loved one in a certain landscape or location. I enjoy the challenge of composing a picture of these moments in time and understand the meaning such painting can have.
